Are Penguins Fish or Birds?

Penguins are undoubtedly birds, but since they cannot fly, they are

flightless birds. Given that penguins spend a lot of time in the water in

search of food, it is simple to understand why some people mistake them for fish.

However, due to their heavy bodies and weak wings, penguins are birds that 

are no longer able to fly despite living in the sea. Since their main sources of

food are fish, krill, shrimp, and other marine crustaceans, they long ago lost the capacity to fly.
