DO ANIMALS TASTE THEIR FOOD?

Animals do have a sense of taste. Similar to humans, some animals have taste receptors that

enable them to consume a range of flavors. They rely on taste to guide their feeding

behavior, which helps them survive in the environment by providing their bodies with the

vital nutrients they need. However, the taste buds of many animals vary. While herbivores

and omnivores have more taste buds and may thus appreciate fruits and

vegetables, certain animals, notably carnivores, have less of these tasting organs.
