Why do birds follow me?

Birds have occasionally been observed following people about in parks, residences, and even the wilderness.

Why do birds follow you? Does it imply that you are a bird whisperer, or is there a more practical

explanation?  Birds who have spent more time with humans tend to be more trusting of them, which makes

them act friendlier and occasionally follow humans. They anticipate the sweets that people often give them

in exchange for their company and interest. Some birds, such as pied wagtails, will follow you or, more accurately,

will try to confuse you by pretending to follow you. The idea is to irritate you to the point that you avoid their nests.
